It's been a long time since I did a status update to the web-site. I've fixed an error or two with what is currently uploaded and I am at the moment working on the blog system and the private messaging system for the web-site. Sorry for the long absence, but I was working on a chat application to accompany the website and I had to start focusing all my energy on that. Both the Comment system and the friend system are uploaded and appear to be functioning. I will be making some modifications to people's profiles in order to implement the new features, but I will try to make as few changes as possible. At the moment I am bouncing back and forth between working on the chat program that is supposed to accompany this site and I am trying to implement the friend system. If all goes the way I hope I should have the friend system working by Monday and I can upload it sometime next week. Then everyone can say, "Look at me! I have friends! YAY!". I have declared the current state of the system in Alpha release. This means that I am now sending invites to very specific people as a means of beginning the testing. Alright, It still isn't quite to the point of alpha but I have setup a profile on the site. I still need to modify the set-up for adding a user a bit with a default template and facilitating the ease of uploading an avatar at first, but it is coming along. This is the first news entry for Elmfyre. I have a good portion of the alpha built and I plan to upload it to the internet very soon. When I do, I will send invites to very specific people as a means of testing the application.
At the moment this application will be almost useless for anyone who doesn't understand HTML. I hope to implement javascript elements to make the editing of templates easier but that is a much higher level and lower priority requirement. More to come later.  See More
